Continued Professional Learning (CPL)

All CIP members will benefit from fostering a "culture of excellence" through professional learning. By adding to our own skills and knowledge, we will advance ourselves and the planning profession. The Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program was developed in response to the profession's recognition of its own needs as well as the public's growing need for assurance that many professionals, planners included, remain current with contemporary theory, methods and practice within their profession.

All Provisional and Full Members must participate in the CPL Program to satisfy the requirements of membership. The reporting period for 2009 is between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2009. The deadline for reporting learning activities without penalty is December 31, 2009. The required number of LUs for each reporting period is 18.

Please enter your LUs on the CIP Web Site at: http://www.cip-icu.ca/ (log on to Members Site - The Learning Net - CPL Reporting Form - Learning Unit Reporting Form).

The APCPS Executive has prepared a CPL Program Summary and Guide that outlines what a learning activity is and how learning units (LU) are earned.

For members who do not have access to a computer, please fill out and submit this form to the APCPS Executive Director: CPL Reporting Form
